Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Desert View walked away with it. They put the hurt on the McClintock Chargers with a sharp 11-3 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Jaguars have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Armando Gutierrez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Cristobal Lorta was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yadier Acu?a, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Desert View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Desert View and bumps their season record up to 17-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for McClintock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.

As of now, neither Desert View nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
