Basketball Recap: Willow Canyon Piles Up the Points Against Moon Valley

Willow Canyon lost to Moon Valley back in November of 2014, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Willow Canyon Wildcats breezed by the Moon Valley Rockets to the tune of 64-27. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willow Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Karnitz, who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points along with six boards and five assists. Karnitz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kandace O?Connell was another key player, going 7 for 14 on her way to 14 points and eight steals.

Willow Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

Willow Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Moon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Willow Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-52 win against Fairfax on the 28th. As for Moon Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-28 victory against Metro Tech on the 28th.
