NCISAA Carolina Piedmont recap November 13, 2013
SouthLake Christian Academy added to the longest winning streak in NCISAA Carolina Piedmont this week by beating Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, 39-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for SouthLake Christian Academy.
Christ School made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,029 from 7,883. The improvement was the result of a 38-8 victory over High Point Christian Academy last week.
Hickory Grove Christian's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bruce Dixon threw for 378 and 4 touchdowns and Keyshawn Allen had 226 yards receiving. On the ground William Lloyd contributed 84 yards. Dillon Schoolcraft helped Hickory Grove Christian's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 85 yards.
Luke Pondo made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions beat Concord First Assembly Academy. The 6-foot-4 defensive end racked up 2 sacks.
He was 18-27 with 0 interceptions.
Allen had an awesome week catching the football as Hickory Grove Christian beat the Eagles. He caught 9 passes for 226 yards.
Dixon put up the best numbers through the air as Ed Reynolds' team bested Concord First Assembly Academy.
The Lions' Dixon and Bryson Allen have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Dixon has thrown for 2,455 yards this season, while Allen has 51 catches for 800 yards. Ellis Pace from the Greenies leads the league in rushing with 1,249 yards.
Geoff O'Donnell's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 39 points on the Eagles.
