After flying high against Catalina last Monday, Tanque Verde came back down to earth. The Tanque Verde Hawks took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabino Sabercats on Wednesday. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rich Knott, who made all 7 shots he took racking up 17 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jacob Dickens, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Caden Watkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sabino, going 11 of 15 en route to 27 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
