This season hasn't been kind to the Lake Braddock Bruins, who are still winless after their sixth match. They lost to Woodgrove at home by a decisive 68-52 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Lake Braddock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Woodgrove is ranked 119th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodgrove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Hill, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Fuller, who scored 11 points.
Lake Braddock's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Woodgrove, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Lake Braddock won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Archbishop Rummel at 5:45 p.m. on December 29th. Archbishop Rummel has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three contests. Woodgrove and Independence will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday.
