The biggest upset of the week belonged to Enumclaw, who took down 118th ranked Enumclaw, 24-23. Domenic Rockey threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the win.
Auburn Mountainview moved up to 121 from 166 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A SPSL. The Lions were able to make the jump by beating the Hornets 24-23.
Austin Filkins and Jacob Richards gave Peninsula a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Filkins threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns, while Richards ran for 67 yards. Nate Carlson also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
Kekoa Nahaku was the best wideout in the league this week as Auburn Mountainview bested Enumclaw. Nahaku racked up nine receptions for 136 yards. Joey Cassano helped Auburn Mountainview's passing attack out by catching 12 balls for 122 yards.
Nicholas Aumua made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jared Gervais's team topped Mark Gunderson's team. The 6-foot-3 senior racked up one sack.
Auburn Mountainview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rockey has thrown for 1100 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Nahaku has 29 catches for 429 yards. Ray Hardaway leads the league in rushing with 336 yards.
A big matchup in 3A SPSL this week will be when the Lions take on the Seahawks. As it stands, Auburn Mountainview is in fourth, while Peninsula is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Lions and Ross Filkins's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Auburn Mountainview comes in having scored 119 this season, while the Seahawks have scored 155. The Lions scored 24 points last week as they bested the Hornets.
