Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Oxbridge Academy won the last time they faced West Boca Raton and things went their way on Monday too. The ThunderWolves blew past the Bulls 11-0. The ThunderWolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by nine runs or more this season.

Aubrey Vital was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kaiya Glucksman and Ila Trueblood did most of the damage at the plate: Glucksman got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Trueblood got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Trueblood has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ella Bianco, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oxbridge Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Boca Raton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Oxbridge Academy has already played their next game, an 11-0 victory against Parkridge Christian on the 15th. As for West Boca Raton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-2 defeat against Westminster Academy on the 15th.
