After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weskan, the Triplains/Brewster Titans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Golden Plains. That's another feather in the cap for Triplains/Brewster, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Triplains/Brewster's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Zerr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Peterson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Golden Plains saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Wark scored 22 points along with eight steals. Wark scored a full 47.8% of Golden Plains' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josh Rath was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Triplains/Brewster back to even at 1-1. As for Golden Plains, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Triplains/Brewster won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wallace County at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th. As for Golden Plains, they will head out on the road to face off against Western Plains at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
