It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the South Spencer Rebels can now relate to. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. South Spencer's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why South Spencer lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Molly Schulte. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals. Schulte has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Caidence Crane was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
South Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Brownstown Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
South Spencer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brownstown Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Linton-Stockton at 10:00 a.m. on February 17th. Brownstown Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Linton-Stockton likes a good challenge.
