Basketball Recap: South Granville Skates Past Vance County with Ease

South Granville won the last time they faced Vance County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South Granville Vikings simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vance County Vipers 88-44. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 29 points or more this season.

KJ Terry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 of 13 to rack up 26 points along with eight steals and six assists. He is becoming a predictor of South Granville's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 11-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Mason Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

South Granville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Vance County lost, don't look at Tyshawn Alston. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Roberts, who posted nine points.

South Granville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games. As for Vance County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Coincidentally, South Granville and Vance County will both be playing J.F. Webb the next time they take the court. Vance County will head out to face J.F. Webb at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while South Granville will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
