Scranton extended the longest winning streak in Lackawanna 1 this week by beating North Pocono, 54-12. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Knights.
Abington Heights was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Comets defeated Scranton Prep 20-7.
Karlon Quiller was the best wideout in the league this week as Scranton bested the Trojans. Quiller racked up four receptions for 136 yards. Jim McNally helped Scranton's passing attack out by catching three balls for 37 yards.
John Jones was the most productive running back in Lackawanna 1 this week. He ran for 161 yards on 33 carries as Wallenpaupack Area topped North Pocono. Teammate Cameron Wolfson added to the ground attack by rushing for 20 yards.
Bryan Schor put up the best numbers through the air as Delaware Valley defeated Valley View. He finished with 10 completions for 263 yards and three touchdowns. Schor's favorite target this week was Connor Decker, who caught three passes for 119 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Schor of the Warriors is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1579. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. On the ground, the Knights' Jake McCarthy has rushed for 974 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Quiller. The Scranton star has 27 catches for 644 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Scranton and Delaware Valley. The Knights enters the game ranked 16th in the state, while Keith Olsommer's team ranks sixth.
McCarthy of the Scranton is only 26 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
There should be lots of points scored when the Knights and Delaware Valley face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Scranton comes in having scored 299 this season, while the Warriors have scored 298. The Knights scored 54 points last week as they beat Greg Dohlon's team.
The Trojans moved up to 391 from 447 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. North Pocono climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Scranton 54-12.
