Eisenhower hasn't had much luck against MacArthur recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will square off against the Generals at 2:00 p.m.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Eisenhower faced off against Benjamin Davis on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Falcons, falling 8-0.
Meanwhile, MacArthur waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
MacArthur got a great performance from Robert Torres as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Torres a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Artemio Mata was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for MacArthur: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Castillo, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
MacArthur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.
Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for MacArthur, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eisenhower has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Eisenhower couldn't quite get it done against MacArthur in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
