The Greene Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Marathon Olympians at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Greene is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Greene strolled past Bainbridge-Guilford with points to spare, taking the game 37-20. Given Greene's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Bainbridge-Guilford is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Marathon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 63-56 win over Oxford Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Greene's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Marathon, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Greene came up short against Marathon in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, falling 46-40. Can Greene avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
