It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sterling had no problem doing just that  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rochelle Hubs with a sharp  13-2 win. The Golden Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven  runs or more this season.
 Lily Martinez made a big impact no matter where she played. She  tossed six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   six  hits. Martinez was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Marley Sechrest was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last 12  games.  Bree Taylor was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  runs and one  double.
With the  victory, Sterling broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 19-10. As for Rochelle,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 9-21.
As of now, neither Sterling nor the Hubs have any future games scheduled.
