With a playoff win on the line, Southeastern rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Reeltown Rebels. Considering the Mustangs have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Emellie Hamilton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Emory Hall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Maci Vest was another key player, earning two RBI and one run.
Southeastern is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Reeltown, they moved to 15-20 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Southeastern has already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Ranburne on the 6th. Reeltown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
