The Crisp Academy Wildcats won against the Furlow Charter School Falcons on Thursday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Crisp Academy walked away with a 61-49 victory over Furlow Charter School. The victory was familiar territory for Crisp Academy who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Tucker Ellenberg, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Crisp Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilk Stephens, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Furlow Charter School saw an underclassman step up: Joseph Deriso scored 18 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Deriso has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Enrique Retana was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 3 steals.
Crisp Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Furlow Charter School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crisp Academy will square off against Georgia Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Furlow Charter School is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Southwest Georgia STEM Charter at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Southwest Georgia STEM Charter comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
