In what's become a running theme this season, the Salida Spartans gave their fans yet another huge  win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a  55-29 margin over Manitou Springs. The  victory was just what Salida needed coming off of a  72-35 loss in their prior  matchup.
 Salida found their leader in underclassman  Braeden Johnson, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 13  rebounds.  Graysa Kindle was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with 13  rebounds and two  blocks.
 Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Brooklynn Sheffield, who  scored 13 points along with eight  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Tori Greene, who  scored seven points along with six  steals.
 Manitou Springs  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only four  offensive rebounds. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Salida  pulled down 25  offensive rebounds.
 Salida pushed their record up to 5-5 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Manitou Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salida will take on Colorado Springs Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Colorado Springs Christian will be coming into the  matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Manitou Springs, they will look to defend their home court  on Wednesday against St. Mary's at 5:30  p.m. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
