Basketball Recap: Davis Piles Up the Points Against Apollo

Davis saw some tournament action on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-35 win over the Apollo Hawks. The Darts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Davis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jt Turley out in front who went 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points. Bryker Couser was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Apollo's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliijah White, who posted six points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Sumpter, who had six points and five boards.

Davis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Apollo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Davis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-53 win against Canyon on the 3rd. As for Apollo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-49 loss against Valley Christian on the 3rd.
