The Sherwood Bowmen will face off against the Glencoe Crimson Tide at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Glencoe will be up against a hot Sherwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Everything went the Bowmen's way against Century on Friday as they made off with an 11-3 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Presley Sarono-Ramos was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sarono-Ramos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Destiny Cornwell looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Henderson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Daisha Cornwell was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Glencoe faced McMinnville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Crimson Tide put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 11-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crimson Tide.
Lexi Brester spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Tuesday Mevis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Irene Vandyke, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Glencoe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McMinnville only posted a batting average of .231.
Sherwood pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Glencoe, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
Sherwood was able to grind out a solid win over Glencoe in their previous matchup back in April, winning 6-3. Do the Bowmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crimson Tide turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
