James Island took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Stratford, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The James Island Trojans had just enough and edged out the Stratford Knights 8-7. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.
Mary Davis Hancock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over ten innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 14 hits (and only one walk). Hancock was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
