A well-balanced attack led the Lowndes Vikings over the Colquitt County Packers in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Lowndes strolled past the Packers with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. That's another feather in the cap for Lowndes, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lowndes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keshawn Arthur out in front who scored nine points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Lowndes and bumps their season record up to 9-11. As for Colquitt County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowndes will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camden County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Georgia (the Wildcats are ranked 66th, while the Vikings are ranked 253rd). As for Colquitt County, they and the Blue Devils will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Tift County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
