Cranston East got themselves on the board against Central Falls on Monday, but Central Falls never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Thunderbolts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Lexi Montalban was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Skylah Belmont-Gomez and Gianna Tocci did most of the damage at the plate: Belmont-Gomez got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Tocci got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Belmont-Gomez a new career-high. Jaeda Viveiros also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Cranston East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Falls only posted an OBP of .200.
The win made it two in a row for Cranston East and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Central Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
