Basketball Recap: Palisades' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palisades). They took down the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs 67-52 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their 12-game losing streak.

Palisades' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Oglialoro, who went 11 of 18 on his way to 27 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards.

Palisades was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Palisades' victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16. As for Northern Lehigh, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Palisades and Northern Lehigh could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Palisades (ranked 658th) will meet Salisbury Township (ranked 319th) at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northern Lehigh will face off against Lehighton at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday down 398 places (619 vs. 221).
