After flying high against the Freehold Boro Colonials last Saturday, The Matawan Regional Huskies came back down to earth. Matawan Regional lost to Holmdel on the road by a decisive 21-7 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Matawan Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Holmdel is ranked 34th).
Matt Iulo was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Matawan Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Holmdel, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Matawan Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holmdel will be playing in front of their home fans against Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
