The West Rusk Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to Joaquin on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin. West Rusk lost against Joaquin in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-38 score last time.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Harper, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harper has scored all season. Montrell Giddings was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, West Rusk were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
West Rusk's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Joaquin, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams will face off at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Joaquin's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Rusk at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. West Rusk will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
