Morehead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dixon Bulldogs. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Tanner Rippey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Morehead's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Dixon, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Coming up, Morehead will host Reidsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dixon, they will head out to face off against Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
