After two games on the road, Natoma is heading back home. They will take on the Rock Hills Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-22, which was the final score in Natoma's tilt against the Panthers on Tuesday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from MaKayla Murphy, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caylie Lyle, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Rock Hills didn't have too much trouble with the Knights at home on Friday as they won 48-34. The victory was just what Rock Hills needed coming off of a 48-17 defeat in their prior matchup.
Natoma dropped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Rock Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Natoma suffered a grim 52-27 defeat to the Grizzlies in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Natoma, Lauren Whelchel (who scored 17 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
