The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over Island Coast. That 22 points margin sets a new team best for LaBelle this season.
LaBelle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alan King jr out in front who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. King jr hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Phillips, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrell Hill, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals. Hill hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was MarKey Pointer, who scored 11 points.
LaBelle's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Island Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaBelle on the road again on Tuesday and play against Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Island Coast, they will square off against Naples Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Naples Classical is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.8 points per game.
