The Mount Pleasant Green Knights had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They came out on top against St. Georges Tech by a score of 43-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mount Pleasant also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, St. Georges Tech saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Reid scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Reid posted two or more blocks.
Mount Pleasant pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Georges Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Mount Pleasant will play host again and welcome Appoquinimink, where tip off is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Appoquinimink has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 195 points over their last three matchups. As for St. Georges Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Polytech at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Polytech is ranked 45th, while St. Georges Tech is ranked 22nd).
