The Northeast Vikings had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Hillsborough 27-26. The victory was familiar territory for Northeast who now have five in a row.
Northeast was led to victory by Javeyon Mckenzie and Trey Whirley. Mckenzie picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Whirley threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns.
Several Terriers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Darryon Jones, who threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns.
Northeast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Hillsborough, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Northeast will head out on the road to face off against Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Hillsborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
