Hopefully Evergreen Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Shabach Christian Academy Blue in their respective states (Evergreen Christian is ranked 34th in Virginia, while Shabach Christian Academy Blue is ranked 94th in Maryland).
Evergreen Christian stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 82-53 victory over Life Christian Academy.
It was another big night for Matthew Shelton, who scored 30 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Sidney Burris was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Shabach Christian Academy Blue's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Solebury by a score of 83-80. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Evergreen Christian's win bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Shabach Christian Academy Blue, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Evergreen Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Shabach Christian Academy Blue in their previous matchup back in January, winning 67-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evergreen Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
