Loretto took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Summertown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Loretto won by a run and slipped past Summertown 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Loretto's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ralee Ellis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Loretto picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Summertown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Loretto will welcome Brooks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summertown, they are taking a road trip to square off against Marshall County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marshall County will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Summertown surely won't give up without a fight.
