The Ledyard Colonels lost against the New London Whalers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ledyard was outmatched by New London at home and fell 75-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ledyard has scored all season.
New London was led to victory by Savahn Warren and Devan Williams. Warren scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Williams scored 19 points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below 16 points for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Da'Shaun Phillips, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Ledyard has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for New London, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Ledyard will play host again and welcome Woodstock Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodstock Academy is coming into the matchup with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Ledyard will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for New London, they will challenge St. Bernard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New London is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
