There's no place like home for the Dunellen Destroyers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took down Perth Amboy Vo-Tech 46-28 on Monday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Dunellen was the (much) better team in the second half.
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Wendy Woll, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Emily Chalecki was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Dunellen has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Perth Amboy Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Dunellen will head out on the road to square off against Middlesex County Vo-Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Middlesex County Vo-Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Dunellen is ranked 175th). As for Perth Amboy Vo-Tech, they will be playing at home against South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (South Amboy: 29.3, Perth Amboy Vo-Tech: 28.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
