There's no place like home for Eminence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Trimble County Raiders on Thursday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Tanner Simpson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has become a key player for Eminence: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 6-7 otherwise. Simpson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kaleb Simpson was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Eminence is undefeated when Simpson posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Craft Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The victory got Eminence back to even at 8-8. As for Trimble County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
