Klein Oak has won three straight games at home, while Tomball has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Klein Oak Panthers challenge Tomball Cougars at 6:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Klein Oak 3.1, Tomball 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Klein Oak made easy work of Klein Collins and carried off a 9-3 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aubrey Lacour made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Riannah Boulanger looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Katelyn Havemann was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Berry, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Klein Oak hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Collins struck out six times.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Tomball sidestepped Klein for a 3-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bearkats: they've now won four in a row.
Tomball also got a great performance from Regina Amaya as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Tomball's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaylea Wall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Tomball's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Klein Oak, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
