Wyomissing is 8-2 against Brandywine Heights Area since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Spartans will welcome the Bullets at 4:00 p.m. Wyomissing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Wyomissing came up short against Oley Valley and fell 6-3. The Spartans have struggled against the Lynx recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Curran Cirulli made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Brandywine Heights Area can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Hamburg by a score of 10-6. The Bullets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ethan Bollinger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bollinger was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dominick Tomasi was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Tommy Moore was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Brandywine Heights Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Brandywine Heights Area's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Wyomissing, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Brandywine Heights Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wyomissing hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Brandywine Heights Area, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Wyomissing's hitters?
