Colton is a perfect 6-0 against Arroyo Valley since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will challenge the Hawks at 3:45 p.m. Colton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Monday, Colton was able to grind out a solid victory over Rancho Verde, taking the game 5-2.
ANDREA VARELA made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, SADIE RODRIGUEZ was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Valley hadn't done well against San Gorgonio recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hawks blew past the Spartans 6-0. Considering the Hawks have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Colton, Arroyo Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Bianca Nava. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Nava was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Herrera, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Colton's record now sits at 18-2. As for Arroyo Valley, their record is now 6-10.
Arroyo Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Colton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Arroyo Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Colton keep running through batters, or will the Hawks buck the trend?
Colton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 against Arroyo Valley by a conclusive 15-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
