The Friendly Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Suitland Rams at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Friendly has three straight wins, Suitland has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Central scored an imposing 62 points on Thursday, Friendly still came out on top. Friendly secured a 66-62 W over Central.
Meanwhile, Suitland pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 92-68 defeat at the hands of Wise. While losing is never fun, Suitland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Wise is ranked 47th).
Friendly's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Suitland, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Friendly took a serious blow against Suitland in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 63-29. Thankfully for Friendly, Jailin Landis (who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
