After a string of three wins, the Valdosta Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tift County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valdosta in their matchups with Tift County: they've now lost four in a row.
Valdosta's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Tift County, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valdosta will be home for the holidays to greet Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brooks County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Valdosta is ranked 62nd).
