King's Academy faced Cypress Bay in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 2-1. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Ryan Huff paced King's Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Huff got some help from Jake Manning and his 23 assists.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Cypress Bay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
