The Kirtland Hornets were the 53-30 winner over the Crestwood Red Devils when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Kirtland was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 39-38 to Crestwood. Kirtland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Crestwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Livia Martini out in front who scored 12 points along with five steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Hannah Ward was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.
Kirtland now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Crestwood, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Kirtland is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Grand Valley at 6:45 p.m. on December 19th. Crestwood will be home for the holidays to greet Wickliffe at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
