Broome is 2-8 against Chapman since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Broome Centurions will head out on the road to challenge the Chapman Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Broome has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, everything went Broome's way against Carolina Academy as Broome made off with a 55-32 victory. Broome pushed the score to 44-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Carolina Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Anaya Wofford continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Kourtney Wofford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Even though Chapman has not done well against Blue Ridge recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Chapman came out on top against Blue Ridge by a score of 59-51. Winning may never get old, but Chapman sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Broome's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Chapman, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Broome didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Chapman in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Broome since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
