Bowie owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Lamar Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Volunteers: when they faced off against the Vikings on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-1 defeat.

Isaiah Henderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over eight innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Turner, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Lamar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bowie is set to take on their familiar foe South Grand Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Volunteers 3.1, the Warriors 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lamar will challenge rival Grand Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
