The Copper Basin Cougars had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Lookout Valley with a sharp 66-41 victory on Friday. The win was just what Copper Basin needed coming off of a 71-48 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Justus Hamby, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avery Crowder, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Copper Basin's victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17. As for Lookout Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chattanooga Prep the next time they take the court. Lookout Valley will host Chattanooga Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Copper Basin will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
