With a playoff game on the line, the Holmes County Blue Devils rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They snuck past the Tigers with a 42-37 win. The win was nothing new for Holmes County as they're now sitting on five straight.
Holmes County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karson McGowan led the charge by scoring nine points along with three steals. McGowan hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Whitaker, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Holmes County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Chipley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
Holmes County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Ponce De Leon at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Chipley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
