After flying high against the Calvary Christian Warriors on Tuesday, the Tampa Catholic Crusaders came back down to earth. Tampa Catholic took a 85-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Ridge on Wednesday. Tampa Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oak Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Tampa Catholic still got an impressive performance from Colby Cannizzaro, who went 9 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 4 assists. Cannizzaro scored a full 45.2% of Tampa Catholic's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Cole, who scored 18 points.
Tampa Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Oak Ridge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Tampa Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Oak Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Evans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evans knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Oak Ridge likes a good challenge.
