Sturgis Brown came into their this week averaging 36.33 points per game, but Sturgis Brown fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-35 to Riggs. If Sturgis Brown were hoping to take revenge for the 13-58 defeat against Riggs the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
No one put up better numbers for Riggs than sophomore Maguire Raske, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Gage Gehring, who racked up 11 tackles.
The loss dropped Sturgis Brown's record to 3-4. The win bumped Riggs' record up to 5-1.
Sturgis Brown will stay at home next week against Yankton at 6:00 PM. Riggs will take on Mitchell at home at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
