After flying high against the McLouth Bulldogs last Tuesday, the Horton Chargers came back down to earth. Horton fell 50-39 to the Dragons on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Horton in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now lost six in a row.
Korie Kirkwood continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valley Falls, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Kirkwood has scored at least a third of Valley Falls' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Brown, who scored seven points along with six assists.
Horton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Valley Falls, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Horton will head out on the road to square off against the Chargers on Tuesday. As for Valley Falls, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McLouth comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
