Basketball Recap: Mendon Piles Up the Points Against Tekonsha

A well-balanced attack led Mendon over Tekonsha in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mendon Hornets blew the Tekonsha Indians out of the water with a 63-19 final score. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Leading Mendon to victory were Ryder Gorham and Owen Gorham. Ryder went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points and three steals, while Owen dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Owen is becoming a predictor of Mendon's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 4-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Huston, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Mendon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

The victory got Mendon back to even at 9-9. As for Tekonsha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Coming up, Mendon will square off against Pansophia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tekonsha, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Camden-Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
